A rhinoplasty or “nose job” can enhance facial harmony by reshaping the dorsum, nasal tip, and nostrils. In addition to an aesthetic improvement, a rhinoplasty is often performed to also improve nasal breathing.
The goal of a face and neck lift is to turn back the clock and reverse the signs of aging in the face and neck. This is performed by lifting and repositioning the skin and deeper tissues that have fallen with aging. Facial fat transfer has revolutionized facelift surgery as this is often needed to restore facial volume that is loss with aging. In addition, facial resurfacing techniques (chemical peels and lasers) is a helpful adjunct to improve wrinkles and skin discoloration.
An upper “eyelid lift” or blepharoplasty is often performed to reverse aging that is found around the eyes. Patients commonly complain of looking tired and fatigued. Often, removal of skin and deep inner fat removal is necessary to obtain a youthful and more natural result.
A lower “eyelid lift” or blepharoplasty is also often performed to reverse aging that is found around the eyes. Patients often complain of bags around the eye, puffy eyelids as well as drooping lower eyelids resulting in a more rounded appearance of the eyes rather than a more youthful almond shape. Excess skin and fine wrinkles are also described by patients. A comprehensive approach often involves removal of the deep fat from around the eye, tightening of the lower eyelid, and skin removal with targeted fractionated fat transfer to soften the area between the lower eyelid and the cheek (tear trough).
Facial fat transfer is the process of taking your own fat (liposuction) from an area of excess (abdomen or inner thigh) and injecting it into specific areas in your face. Facial fat transfer has revolutionized modern facial rejuvenation techniques as it restores facial volume and shape that is commonly lost with aging.
Skin resurfacing using laser treatments or chemical peels are effective in improving wrinkles, texture, and skin discoloration. It is often performed in combination with more comprehensive facial rejuvenation procedures such as face and neck lift, eyelid surgery, and facial fat grafting.
A brow lift is performed to reposition an aging and low brow to a more youthful location. Patients commonly complain of looking tired, fatigued, and even angry. There are various surgical techniques utilized to perform a brow lift and your specific anatomy will determine the best individualized approach.
A chin augmentation is performed to enhance the contours of the chin and improve facial balance and harmony. Patients often complain of a small or weak appearance of their chin. Chin augmentations can be performed using your own fat (fat transfer) or a permanent implant depending on the amount of desired chin advancement.
An otoplasty is commonly performed to set back prominent ears (“dumbo” ears) while improving the shape and contours. Patients often complain of ears that stick out too far. The goals of an otoplasty is a natural appearing ear that is set back harmoniously while avoiding the classic stigmata associated with ear surgery.
Breast augmentation is a procedure that can be used to enhance the volume of the breasts. Breast augmentation may be performed with saline or silicone implants. The breast implant is one of the most studied medical devices.
Many patients who undergo breast augmentation require a secondary procedure in the future. Removal of scar around the breast implant capsule (capsulectomy), implant exchange, breast implant pocket revision, and removal of unwanted or ruptured implants can be performed.
Mastopexy (Breast Lift)
A breast lift is a procedure to address sagging breasts. The procedure often involves the removal of excess breast skin and repositioning of the nipples.
A breast reduction is a procedure in which the volume of a patient’s breasts is reduced. Often, patients with large breasts experience upper back, neck, and shoulder pain, as well as rashes in the breast folds and skin grooving. A breast reduction can improve these symptoms and usually results in a lift, as well.
Abdominoplasty is a procedure in which excess skin and fat from the abdomen is removed. In many cases, the separation of the rectus abdominus muscles, known as diastasis recti, can be repaired if present. This is often seen in patients after pregnancy.
Liposuction is a procedure in which excess fat is removed from the body. It can be utilized for body contouring, including abdominal etching.
Fat grafting is a procedure in which fat is removed from one part of the body, usually with liposuction, and transferred to another portion of the body to enhance volume or correct a shape or deformity. It can be used as an alternative to implants in augmenting breast volume.
